Who Am I?

Why hello there! I’m Amy Larink Runquist, and I’d like to welcome you to Home on the Stone! If you’ve been looking for a community of creative folks who want to make this world a better place, I hope you will join us.

This whole fever dream began in June of 2024 when I decided I’d like to write a play for puppets. And while I was at it, why not make it a musical? And wouldn’t it be neat if it was produced with wacky sets and a huge fish built on an adult tricycle and have dance sequences?

Have I ever done any of these things before now? No, I have not. Has that stopped me? No, it has not! I’m a lifelong theatre nerd. I spent my teens and early 20s on stage and then transitioned to working backstage painting sets. I criss-crossed the country painting for theatres into my 30s. Now in my 40s, I’m a full-time interior residential painter, happily settled in Milwaukee with my husband and our 4 greyhounds. I love my life! But I also was getting that itch to create theatre magic again…

So, I wrote Home on the Stone. I’m learning it’s fun to learn new skills, and scary to ask for help, and essential to have a community of positive folks surrounding you. I need help bringing this thing to life! If you think this sounds fun, cool, challenging, exciting — or even ridiculous — please reach out!
